Hi, I'm Hilary Talbott, Acupuncture Physician and Clinical Herbalist. Today, we will be discussing acupressure for blood pressure. Now, you could have high blood pressure, you could have low blood pressure. Depending on what you're trying to treat, your points would be different. Most people seek treatment for high blood pressure. When they come into the clinic, one of the things that I often do with acupuncture is what's called bleeding the apex of the ear. Now, bleeding the apex of the ear is great for symptomatic relief. I can often drop somebody's pressure about twenty points just from this simple technique that doesn't hurt very much at all. But, for just acupressure points, liver 3, located right in between the first and second bones of the foot, in the hollow space just before the bones come together is a point that is often needled especially if stress is a component in the blood pressure, the high blood pressure. It's important to understand the nature of the blood pressure whether it's coming from the kidneys or the liver or just as simple as a side effect of a cold medication or stress. So, daily pressure on these points could help ameliorate your, your high blood pressure; but it's important to check them often and understand where your blood pressure usually sits out on a day in and day out basis as well as to understand what is the underlying pattern of disharmony for this, for experiencing high blood pressure. In order to do that, visit your local acupuncture physician at acufinder.com. I'm Hilary Talbott, and that was acupressure for blood pressure.
