Hi, I'm Hilary Talbott, Acupuncture Physician and Clinical Herbalist. Today, we will be discussing acupressure for nose soreness. Now, there can be various reasons as to why your nose is sore, but go in with cold and flu season and just taking that continuous blowing of the nose as well as nasal congestion could lead to kind of soreness in the nasal cavities. I'm going to show you two points today, Bi Tung and Li 20. Bi Tung is located at the lower point of the nose in the outer side of the nose; often in this crease too, Li 20; so massaging in this entire area here with the tip of your finger while trying to take deep breaths through the other nostril and then alternating side to side will help you to unlock the nasal passages and relieve an acutely sore nose. Believe it or not, sticking needles in these points actually helps tremendously especially if you are really congested and can no longer breath through your nose. And another point is Yin Tung; the extra point located at the top of the nose in the glabella. With gentle pressure here, that will helps to open up the nasal cavities of the entire face. Now, these would be appropriate if you're just experiencing some simple nose soreness due to cold, cold and flu season. But, if it was something chronic and up inside the nose, you would want to visit your local acupuncture physician or an ear, nose and throat doctor. I'm Hilary Talbott and that was acupressure for nose soreness.
