Hi, I'm Amy Newman, fitness expert for Gold's Gym, creator of The Perfect 10 Workout, and I'm going to show you how you can exercise with arthritis in your feet doing yoga. First of all, I'm going to have you sit on the balls of your feet with your toes each spread out. If you need to you can bring your hands back and help flex those little toes so you get a little bit of weight on each one and just gently put a little weight on your feet. Slowly going from side to side opening up each toe. Feel the balls of your feet stretching open, breathe into them. Then come onto the tops of your feet and lift your knees up. Now sometimes, you can just sit on the tops of your feet and that's going to open up the tops of them fine. But if you want to go a little bit further lift up your knees. And you can eventually sit on your feet this way opening them up. Breathe into your feet. Then stretch out flex your feet. bring your buttocks back towards your heels. Open those feet nice and wide. Breathe. Come back up onto your hands and knees, lift your tailbone high in the air. And lets press one heel down stretching the back of that leg. Opening up your leg nice and straight. Breathing deep into your body and switching feet. Then eventually pressing both heels down in downward facing dog. Now as you get more and more used to it you'll be able to lift one leg up and stretch one foot at a time. Let them open up switching feet slowly. Make sure you don't slip. Lifting the other leg up. And slowly lowering your feet down. Bend your knees gently as you walk your hands back towards your feet. Reach behind your legs. Straighten your knees, breathe deep. Reach your arms behind your back, intertwine your fingers. Squeeze your shoulder blades and flex your toes up towards your chin. Breathe. Release bend your knees slightly. Release your fingers and gently roll up. I'm Amy Newman, thanks for joining me as I show you how to do some poses and stretches for arthritis in the feet.
