Hi, my name is Sandy Morton, and I work with Headlines Salon and Spa in Clemson, South Carolina. And today, I'm going to show you how to straighten hair or curly hair with a flatiron. Also, showing you the products to use that are awesome and that you should use before you straighten hair. Redken Real Control, it's very light, it's nice spray that you would put on either wet or dry. Once again, Redken Smooth Down, it's heat glide and this is great for thicker curly hair, on the coarse side. Redken Extreme also makes a great straightener and you would put that on wet hair and then dry it. Right now, I'm going to show you how to do it and once again, you're going to want to take sections of your hair, about an inch depending on how much hair you have and comb it. You can section it with a rattail comb or a plat and you're going to go ahead and comb through and you're going to use a flatiron. Your flatiron, you can get them in a variety of different put, places. However, I personally recommend using, you know, one that's a little more expensive because they are better. You can get them with glass plates, titanium plates and you know, they come in a variety of sizes too depending on how much hair you have and what you want to straighten; two inch, one inch. Personally, I like the one inch 'cause you get smaller strands and a little bit more control over that. You're going to start very carefully up at the top; you're going to work your way down straight and just hold it out so you don't burn yourself.
