I'm Josh Muramoto. I'm a tennis instructor here in the Salt Lake Valley, and now I want to talk to you about how to serve a tennis ball. And for that you will need a tennis racket, a tennis court and some tennis balls. What you want to do is line up at the service line. The farthest line back here is called the service line. You are going to place your left foot there if you are a right-handed server or your right foot if you are a left-handed server. You're just going to line your left foot up, point it to the opposite direction. You're going to grab your ball and remember your toss and your backswing need to go up, your arms need to go up at the same time. So, you need to get a good toss, and then you're going to go up and just go after the ball. We don't really need a knee bend, we just want you to get the feel of how your racket should move during the serve. So, get yourself lined up and swing at the ball. You just want to get a good feel, you don't, you don't need to hit it hard. You don't need to get any amount of spin on it, just try to get it in for now. Get yourself lined up, and you want to pretend like your arm is a spaghetti noodle. So, on your backswing and up, just pretend that your arm is a spaghetti noodle and let your arm work through the ball. Again, I'm Josh Muramoto, and those are the serve techniques of a basic serve.
