One of the things that you want to do is decrease, or cut your red meat intake and your overall meat intake. Increase your fiber intake, beans, legumes, fresh vegetables, frozen vegetables, fruit and whole grains. We have the amount of cholesterol that we need in our body to begin with. Any meat or dairy products that you add into your diet will provide extra cholesterol. You want to know this so that you can actually pay attention to how much extra cholesterol that you're eating.
