Hello, my name is Conan Elliott and I'm the Director of Instruction here at Camus Meadows Golf Club in Camus, Washington. Today we're going to talk about where is a golf cart's governor located. Well a golf cart's governor located is actually down in the motor compartment. Some of them, these electric ones nowadays are actually, the governor isn't a true governor. It is a control speed control which is built in to the computer system. So it's actually on the chip; so there's nothing you can do about adding or subtracting the governor off of a cart. There is a governor switch on them and that would have to come from the schematics you have for your own personal cart. The gas, the gas models now have, some of them have computers, some of them have literally a piece of equipment that actually governs the speed. It's very dangerous to take the governor off or to turn it off on a cart, in the fact that with a cart you have full speed, or coasting when you have the governor on. And the governor actually works as a, as a device for safety. So when you start down a hill, it starts pulling back and gearing the cart down so it doesn't go too fast and you get in trouble at the bottom. So the governor's there for a particular reason, basically safety on the cart and most of them are built in to computers now. This is Conan Elliott, and that's where a golf cart governor is located.
