Hi I'm Sue Walker and I'm going to show you how to make homemade cookies. I'm going to be making Ginger Snap Cookies. The ingredients are three fourth's cup of shortening, one cup of sugar, one egg, one fourth cup of molasses, one teaspoon of vanilla. The dry ingredients are one fourth teaspoon of salt, one eighth teaspoon of ground cloves, one teaspoon of ginger, one teaspoon of cinnamon, two teaspoons of baking soda and two cups of flour. I'll start by creaming the shortening and the sugar together. Now we add the egg, the molasses and the vanilla and mix that altogether. Before you add your dry ingredients to your batter mix it altogether and then add to the wet ingredients. Cover your dough with a towel and chill for one hour. After the dough is chilled we're ready to bake. Take a spoonful of dough and roll it into a ball. Roll it in sugar and place on your cookie sheet. Bake in a 350 degree preheated oven for ten to twelve minutes. Take the cookies out and let them cool and that's how to make homemade cookies.
