"Hi, I'm Elizabeth Muller and I'm a professional hairstylist with LizsHairDesign.com. In this clip I'm going to show you how to curl thick hair with a curling iron. You'll need a small barrel curling iron. You'll need a comb, so let's get started. I take a strand of hair about this thick. Her hair's thick so we're going to take a nice good piece of hair. I'm going to use a curling iron on her head; I'm going to proceed to go by the root and twirl the hair, twirling it as it curls, as I'm curling it. I'm going to hold it for a minute and if it was a regular iron that had like the plug in, you'd do the same thing. Curling as a curling iron we're going to push it out like this, release it and there's your curl. She's got thick hair, you see a nice big thick curl. You're going to take nice good sections to do this like about maybe a quarter inch section and you're going to curl the hair like that. You would take it again by the root, twirl the hair around and also as you're twirling it, what I meant to say is when you twirl it around just hold it as close as you can without putting the eye too close to the root. Okay, and we bring it down again. Thank you, this is how you curl thick hair."
