How to Make Hair Curly Without Any Products

"Hi my name is Lisa and I'm a hairstylist in Wilmington, North Carolina and I'm going to show you how to make hair curly without any products. In our case we're going to start with dry hair and we're going to take small sections and we're going to curl it with a curling iron. We're going to use a one-inch barrel curling iron. This is actually a Marcel iron and we're going to take it all the way to the scalp without burning our client and we're going to hold it for a couple seconds so we can get it good and hot and then we're going to take a little clip and hold the curl in place while you proceed through the section in the same manner until you have curled as much of this hair as you would like. Because we are not using products we're going to let this hair really cool down. What happens as the hair cools the curl will take on the shape of the curling iron that you're using to create it so you want to use that cool down period to help set your hair in that shape. So I'm going to start taking it down. These are nice and cool and that is how you curl hair without using any products. You can use heat or another kind of mechanical means such as a roller like do a wet set and start with wet hair and you would take a small section in that case and you would start rolling from the end and then you would get down to the scalp and you would clip it and then do your entire head in that manner and then have your client either sit under heat until the curls are dry or dry it at room temperature and you would have the same effect as if you had used a heat styling tool and that is how you curl hair without products."
