Hello I'm image consultant Susan Bigsby at In this clip I'm going to show you how to wear a capelet. What is a capelet? You think, is this some sort of Victorian garment or something? It actually is and that's where it came from. But guess what, everything does come back. And this time I've chosen it in the form of a sweater, which I think probably has the most versatility for most of us. And you can wear it more casually. This particular one that I have in my hand is a lovely one from Ralph Lauren. And it's beautiful. No sleeves, no arms. You just put it over your shoulders. And it's short. It's only meant to keep you a little bit cozy when it gets cold outside. And Angelia wears this beautifully. I love this little leather straps that keep it closed. And what you'll do is you'll button it up here on the shoulder and then you buckle the straps so that it stays closed. And it's really, really a beautiful, beautiful classic piece. Very typical of Ralph Lauren I think. But look how nice and warm and cozy it keeps your on those cold fall days that are coming up. It's a beautiful look and just is meant to hit just above the waistline. Just keeping the top part of the body warm. Now you can buy a capelet in many forms. I've seen plaid ones, Burberry makes some beautiful plaid ones. But they're a little bit more limited in how you put them together. You can also buy nicer fabrications, even fur for the more formal events that you may have to attend. And it's always a little bit chilly because we know how bare those evening gowns and evening dresses can be. So it's always nice to have something a little bit warm and cozy over your shoulders when it gets cool outside. But they're a beautiful fashion statement this year. And they make a nice new addition to your wardrobe and something you probably don't already have. So enjoy. Have fun with looking for them. You may even want to knit one yourself. This is Susan Bigsby, thanks for watching.
