"Hi my name is Bill Barney, I'm with Community Dish in Pahrump, Nevada. I am an SBCA licensed installer. That is Satellite Broadcast Communications Association, and I would like to help you with your satellite installation. This house has been pre-wired for satellite. What that means, and how that is different from cable is that each outlet inside the house the wire terminates here in this box. So every wire that is inside of this box goes to and terminates on a wall in the house. The fittings and things that you are seeing on this are from the cable company, and they have configured it for their cable product. Customer however has high speed Internet on their cable line, and we are going to do our best so we are going to make sure that they are able to keep their high speed Internet. For now we our next project is to decide which one of these wires are the ones that we want for the installation. And that is what we are going to use the cable toner for to do that. I would like to talk a little bit about the tone generator. This is the second part of the toner tool that we will be using. Tone generator that I have is three settings. One being off, the other continuity, and the last one tone. What we are going to use is the tone setting. So we are going to flip the switch over to tone then we are going to attach it to the wire that we want to tone out. This will put a signal if you will or sound if you prefer down the wire that our wand is going to be able to pick up on the outside. When we touch the wire we will know that when we hear the toning noise out of the wand that we have the proper wire. We have removed the first wire on the four way splitter. We are now going to test it with out toning wand. We hold the button down on the wand, press the end of the toner wand to the center conductor. If we hear nothing that is not the wire that is connected to the tone generator. We then have to go on to the next wire. So we are removing the next wire from our four way splitter, and we are going to again repeat it. Push the button down on the toner wand, voila that is the wire we want. So this is the wire that we want to run our satellite signal to that room."
