How to Give a Spa Pedicure
A spa pedicure usually involves soaking the feet in warm water, clipping the nails, removing the cuticles, exfoliating the skin, massaging the feet for 10 minutes and wrapping the feet in a warm towel. Hi, I'm Susan, I am from the Treat Nail Lounge in Santa Barbara and today we're going to do a spa pedicure and this is the Treat way. This is the way we do it here. First of all we use a copper bowl with hot stones on the bottom. The copper bowl basically is used for sanitary purposes. So now I'm going to start the pedicure. First we're going to remove the polish. Next we're going to clip. Next we're going to file. You want to file the nail straight across, you want to round off the corners, take care of those sharp edges. Next we're going to apply a cuticle remover, and this is applied just at the base of the cuticle. Next we're going to push the cuticle back. Remove as much dead skin as possible. Next we're going to exfoliate. You want to first get the skin a little, get the foot a little bit wet. Here at Treat, we use a Fiji Coconut Sugar scrub, and it's just about everybody's favorite. It really moisturizes. Next you can take your foot petal and remove an callus that's on the bottom of the foot. After this we're going to rinse the foot. And after this, we're going to moisturize and usually what I do, this is everybody's favorite part, about a ten minute massage. And this is where everybody usually goes to sleep. After this, what I do, is, I have a hot steamed towel, I wrap both of the feet in a nice steamy hot towel, seal in that moisture.
