"Spinner baits, very versatile tool. They all have weight right here with a hook. This is a spinner bait. It's got a led head right here for weight. You can cast it a long ways. The hook is just like a big jig that comes right out of the led head. It also has a skirt for attractant purposes but on the other side of the safety pin we have the attractant blades. They provide flash. Gold is good in murky water. Silver good in clear water to get a lot of sun reflection so we throw the bait out, the blades spin, the fish gets excited, comes over and attacks that bait but the very best thing about a spinner bait is that it is weedless. So now we're going to throw a cast right to that bush and see if we can find a bass that's hiding right there in that thick cover, throw beyond it, now we can bring that spinner bait right back through and over that bush. The bass will often attack it as soon as it hits the bush, pulls on the bush and then releases. That's when the bass likes to go after it. So we cast over the bush then we pull on that to make sure the blades are spinning, bring it up to the bush. We hit it, we pull it through and it drops down to the other side. This bait has a lot of equipment on it, a lot of adornment so it takes a little bit for the bass to get hold of it. Sometimes right after you feel the tension and the hit, pause and then set the hook, that gives the bass time to grab the bait, turn it around and take off. Sometimes if you set the hook, just as soon as it gets in his mouth it will pull it away from him because he might have the blade, he might have the skirt. Give him time to get that hook position, give him a little slack and set the hook."
