"How to transport your puppy in a car is an important subject to think about before you actually need to transport your puppy. It is a wonderful idea to purchase a good sturdy crate, plastic ones are great for car and other transportation. Make sure that you have a comfortable blanket inside and that your dog is used to being in a crate. There are a lot of good tips out there for getting your dog comfortable with a crate in advance. They are, they include leaving the door open and possibly feeding your dog in there, letting them get used to the idea of being in the crate before you actually close the door. So this is a great tool for that purpose. It's a good idea to make sure that your crate is actually attached to the car in some way through a seat belt or some kind of other strap systems, so that if anything would happen during the car ride this doesn't become some kind of a dangerous projectile or worse, that your dog it actually hits something and then your dog is thrown from the crate. There are also seat belts that are available, again this is something that you would need to get your dog used to, prior to actually using it. Dogs seem to be much more comfortable in this kind of device rather then being tied to a seatbelt that seems to be a little bit more trouble, troublesome for dogs in general. This would be an example of a seatbelt you might use to transport a puppy. This is a large and your puppy probably wouldn't be this large. Got that point. This goes over the head, the padded portion goes up against the chest because that's probably what is going to keep the dogs from flying forward if there is an impact. Legs go through, pull it up and this particular model snaps right over the back. And then this seat belt would go through this loop here so you would tighten it up, make sure that it is fitting snugly on your dog and then your dog would actually be confined to the very seat where they are sitting. This is another good option for confining your puppy on a car ride."
