"Now we're going to discuss how to clear a paper jam from a copier. Now copiers vary in size, shape, form and function quite a bit, probably even more than a lot of other peripherals and other hardware around the office. We're going to be looking at a smaller personal copier today but other larger copiers including the gigantic ones you see in a lot bigger offices the same basic principles apply. As far as what can cause a jam to occur could be any number of things. It can be that the paper is folded or warped or just not nice and flat, sometimes a copier will pickup two or three sheets at the exact same time and try to run them through all at once. Sometimes if you're using stock that's too heavy for the copier to handle or also if there's an issue with the rollers, if there's maybe something wrong with the rollers that they need to be replaced if there's any kind of foreign material on them, that can cause a jam or other parts in the copier malfunctioning. So now let's try to get this paper jam cleared. So here we have a paper jam. What we're going to need to do first on this model is we're going to need to pull these two tabs so we can get better access to the paper. So I'm going to loosen this one first and pull this out. As we can see the paper is kind of a mess. In this case the easiest way to pull this out might actually be to go ahead and pull it backwards this way. Pull very slowly, very gently. And the jam is out. Replace this as so, close the case and you're good to go."
