"Today I'm here to show you how to set up a home network. First thing you'll need to do is obtain a router, much like this one. This is a Netgear, although there's several manufacturers, Netgear and Linksys being the two most popular. First, you'll need to make sure that your router has a good power connection. Take the routers power supply, connect it into the appropriate connector as so. Once you've got the power connected, give the router a minute or two to finish power cycling, as the, much like a personal computer, routers, most routers today have a built-in set of tests that the that the unit runs on startup. These tests are built into the router to insure that it's going to work for you, work properly. Once the router is finished powering up, the next thi, the next thing you'll want to do is take the Ethernet connection from your DSL or cable modem and plug it into the Internet port on the back of the router. Most routers have it clearly labeled. If it's not clearly labeled, it will usually be a jack, a little bit separate from the rest of the back of the, the rest of the jacks on the back of the router. Once you've connected your router to your DSL or cable modem, give it a moment to establish a connection. Once the connection's established, you'll then want to take a second Ethernet cable, plug it into one of the ports on the back of the router. The other end of this cable will be connected to your computer. With all these connections established, the next step is to refer to the manufacturers instructions as to how to configure the router. Once that's configured, your network will be ready to go."
