"Hi! My name is Victoria Calvin with Splish-n-Splash Mobile Pet Spa in Miami, Florida. Let's talk about how to choose a doggy daycare center. There are a couple things you definitely want to consider before dropping off your beloved pet into the care of someone you do not know. The first thing you want to look for is the ratio of employees to dogs. If you have fifty dogs and two employees they're not going to be able to handle the situation in the event that there is a fight or an aggressive dog. If you have a small dog you want to make sure that they have a separate run area for your dog. If the little dogs and the big dogs are mixed up you are going to increase your chances of an injury ten fold, so if you have a small dog make sure they have an area dedicated only to dogs of the same size. Also, cleanliness is a major factor. When you're choosing a doggy daycare center make sure that they want to see that your dog is on flea medicine to make sure your dog is not going to pick up any fleas mixed in with these dogs, and you also want to make sure they're asking for health records to make sure that all dogs have been vaccinated and are in good health to be socialized with other dogs. Also, you're going to want to check if your dog is going to spend most of his day in a cage or running around with the other dogs. If they have a lot of play time make sure it's well supervised. If they are going to be held in a cage, make sure that they are de-sanitized with something like these things like distemper, mortadella and any other transmittable disease amongst dogs. If your doggy daycare center offers any grooming services you want to make sure that if they are going to cage dry that the cages have easy ventilation on all sides. This is the number one cause for death in dogs in grooming salons because the little dogs especially can suffocate easily with too much air being blown on them. You also want to make sure that there is not one groomer who's overwhelmed with the dogs. In this situation, people tend to rush and your chances of having an injury are also increased."
