"Hi, I'm Stephen Taylor, endurance coach and fitness trainer and we're here today to talk about how to train for a triathlon. Training for a triathlon is easy, swim, bike, and run as much as you can. OK, they always can make it much more sophisticated then that but thats the beginning, is just get out there and practice those three sports. When you are new to a sport or even if you're seeking to improve, one goal is to learn the technique of each sport as well as possible. It's not only enough just to work hard at the sport and put in a lot of time training but learn how to do that sport with better movement and better form. Now, in your training for swimming, biking, and running, you want to include a mix of different kinds of workouts, so don't just do the same thing each day. Some examples of workouts would be long endurance workouts where you don't focus so much on a fast pace but more increasing your minutes. You have speed work oriented training where your working at a higher intensity for the sake of improving your speed. And then also an important and often forgotten kind of training and that is a recovery workout which is a nice, short, light session in a sport. One more thing, it's not only enough to train in swimming, biking, or running, you also need to take care of your body so that it doesn't break down. Make sure that you eat healthy food and stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water and get enough rest. You also need to do certain things to keep your body healthy such as stretching, periodic strength training, and activities like massage and Pilates which help you withstand all of the swimming, biking, and running."
