"Hi! My name is Dane Teixeira, the president of the Broward County Darting Association. We're here at Archies West Practice Facility talking about playing darts. In this clip, I'm going to give you some tips on dart stances. Dart stances vary from person to person and day to day and can be as wide a variety as you can imagine from, if you imagine a baseball pitcher, he always starts with his left foot forward if he's right handed but he always ends up with his right hand forward. Well, that's because they require a lot more power to throw a baseball often the distance throw a dart. The dart throwers stand with their equal foot forward to their hand. If they're right handed usually their right foot is forward to throw a dart but dart stances vary from this position to people who put both legs parallel to the line as in this position and throw and then there's many variations in between. There is 45 degree angle and then there is 90 degree angles and you'll find people vary from any point from A to Z when it comes to that. Now, let me demonstrate the first stance. In position number one here where this leg is at a 45 degree angle with your right hand, this is how generally people would throw a dart to the board, in this fashion. It provides stability and all that and in this case they all do it the same way, it's just the matter of balance and your preferences of person whichever you makes you feel comfortable because that's what's the most important thing in throwing darts is for you to be comfortable with how you stand and how your body feels. Okay, the next stance with people standing with their legs parallel to the line. Usually, the legs are shoulder with and this is the other extreme where people stand up this level and then throw the dart this way which has intensity the body a little bit more to get that throwing arm directed forward. And then thirdly, there's people who put their anywhere from 90 degrees backward and all that and then their arm is more direct to the board and there's a lot less body movement so it tends to be a little bit more stable which is sort of what you're looking for when you're actually throwing. The least amount of body movement would be the best. This has been Dane Teixeira, thank you for watching."
