"Hi, I'm Sally Watkins with Century Travel in Austin, Texas. Let's talk about some of the top things to do in London. Of course, Buckingham Palace, Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London and if you have kids in particular, go at night. You have to get reservations in advance for the ceremony of the keys that's done at the tower. The Changing of the Guard which is done Monday through Friday at Buckingham Palace; no fee for that. It's eleven thirty everyday, April or May; I'm not sure which, through October, the rest of the year it is a bit less frequent. The parks; Hyde Park, Kensington Park, Green Park; all these parks are places that the Londoners really use and you should to. Go see Tower Bridge and the bridge lifts for ships to go through and there's a schedule online of it; what time the lifts will be day by day and you can go watch that and you can also go into the power room and be able to see how all that happens; the machinery that makes it happen. Ride a doubled decker bus; they go red double decker bus; there's lot, many of them still operating, but there are a few that are for tourists. It's a tourist thing to do and it's fun. Go see Herod's food halls, down in the basement park, they are just amazing. You ought to see a Christopher Wren's church, St. Paul's would be a really good example of what to do. Take a boat ride if you can on the temps. Things just look very different from out on the water. You will get a completely different view of the town. I love Covent Garden. Go over enjoy the shops and all in, in the market itself. There are street performers outside and there's a scheduled performers inside; there's places to eat and of course do some kind of street market like Portobello Market would be a good one. Be sure you have at least one meal and a pop and yes, they are child friendly, particularly might go at lunch. And of course the London theaters scene and in many instances it can be less expensive than New York but make sure you get to apply while you're in London."
