"Hi! I'm Angela and I swim for Eagle Aquatic Team in Salt Lake City, Utah. What muscles do you use in competitive swimming? Well, competitive swimming is a great for using all muscles of your body. It starts with the very strong core, not just your six calf and your abs 'cos your obliques and your lower back muscles, your hip flexes all contribute to a strong core which is the basis of your swimming. After that, swimmers tend to have large shoulders and strong legs and built legs and then into your arms, your triceps and all your arm muscles get really worked. And then your legs, your glutes, use for strong kick also your club and even your calves get worked when you push off the wall. Swimming is a great exercise to use all muscles of your body. You can use your weight, the weight room or dry land. Just exercise is not on the water to increase your strength of the muscles and then that'll help your transfer to the pool, your strength and those muscles that you use in swimming will get better. To increase strength in each muscle that you work on your body, you can isolate it. For example, just use a kick work and work on your leg muscles and kick or you can put paddles on your hand to make your arm muscles stronger."
