"Hi I'm Lorna Collete with Equity Real Estate in Salt Lake City, Utah, and I've been asked to speak about what does it take to become a real estate agent. And it doesn't take a lot. You start out going to a school here in Utah, you have to take one hundred and twenty hours, and after you finish that school if you pass the test and you get your license. One of the most important things though is after you get that license you find a company that will train you in the practical aspects of becoming an agent. And then it is really important to find a good team, and good agents that you want to model, and you want to become like. And you work with them, and see what they do realizing that it may take a whole year until you feel proficient to do your own business. And then you become a real estate agent. One thing that is really important about being a real estate agent is you really want your best interest of your clients always number one. And so you have to love people, you have to be willing to work with their schedules. You are kind of johnny on the spot doing things whenever they want, and you really care about their best interest. Becoming a real estate agent is really remembering it is your business, and you want to be the best in your business. You want to do everything that you can to help your client."
