"Each employee has to be trained in the hazards they may encounter during the work. The employer has the obligation to provide that training to the employee. And that is going to vary tremendously based on what they are going to do. Some regulations have very specific training standards where the employees must first be informed about the hazards, and then they actually have to demonstrate that they know how to protect themselves from the hazard. A good example of training let's say if a employee is exposed to falls. They may have to be trained on how to avoid a fall, but also how to use certain types of equipment like fall arrest equipment that may catch somebody during a fall. Employees have to be trained in the proper use of all the equipment that they are going to use. Whether it is tools or even if they are going to be operating equipment like forklifts or heavy construction equipment or things like that. So the training is one of the more important parts of making sure that employers are complying with the OSHA regulations."
