"Hi, in this clip we're going to talk about how to make a gas mileage better on a motorcycle. One of the first things I want to cover is when you own a motorcycle, typically a person who owns a motorcycle is because they want to go fast especially when it's a sports bike but that's one of the things that's going to cut your gas mileage down significantly. If you're redlining it, going high RPMs, shifting like you know a mad dog, you're going to just you're going to burn up gas pretty quick. Now, typically on a bike like this, the maintenance manual says that you should get a tuneup at certain periods over time. Make sure that you're getting the tuneups regularly because that's also going to play into how you ride your bike and if you're riding it fast and redlining it, it's going to significantly decrease in performance. Make sure your bike has regular oil changes also. Like any piece of equipment, it has a lot of moving parts and if you make sure that all of the moving parts are you know kept good maintenance and oil and lubricated and everything is working fine, the whole thing is going to work together eventually but the points I'm covering here are the main points. So, once again, make sure you get your oil change regularly. Something else you can check out is the tires. Make sure that they're properly in inflated. You can get a little gauge at a tire shop or you know some auto parts store but check to make sure that the pounds per square inch is per the owner's manual. Also, there's a label down here on the back part of the bike and that can also tell you exactly what the pounds per square inch on the tire should be. Something else is the octane of gas that you get on the bike. Again, in your manual it will tell you the optimum octanes to have in the gasoline. What I do typically is I'll put in a very high octane like I think it's like ninety two at the gas station in premiums. If you put that in your bike, it's going to run a lot better because it's going to burn hotter. It's going to be more efficient. Also, when your bike sits over time not enough octane in the gas decreases so, it'll help out in that aspect also but all those things put together you should pretty much achieve some excellent gas mileage on your motorcycle."
