"Have you ever thought about having a cheat sheet with you when apply for a job? I'm Shannon Terry, a Resume Writer and Interview Skills Coach with Resume Confidence, here to give you that tip as well as six others on how to fill out a job application. First of all like I said, I'd recommend having a cheat sheet with you either a job application that you've already filled out as reference or just putting information on a sheet of paper and all you have to do then is copy everything; you'll have all your phone numbers, contact, addresses, that sort of thing with you. Second of course, write neatly so they can read it and I'll recommend bringing your own pen. Three, please don't write, "See Resume" on a job application. It tends to come across as a little bit lazy. Go ahead and fill in those blanks just briefly with, my fourth recommendation, action verbs. Just like you would on a resume, action verbs talking about the skills that you want to make sure that employer knows that you have. My fourth tip is in this what salary are you seeking; in that little box; I would always write negotiable. This way, you don't sell yourself short, they might offer you more; but you also aren't out pricing yourself. Similarly, the sixth tip in, would be in the salary history for each one of your jobs when you're filling that out, they want to know what you made; I would, you run that risk again if you fill it in, same risks; if you don't fill it in, it might look like you're not paying attention. So just make a judgment call on that. And my seventh tip would be for your reason for leaving; always make sure it's brief but true and some good ones hopefully that you can use would be to pursue another opportunity which is usually always true and of course things like you moved out of the area, got a promotion or focus on your studies or left for school. I hope this seven tips help you fill out your job application."
