"Hi! My name's Kayti Brosnan. I'm a registered nurse here in Austin, Texas and today I'm going to talk about some home remedies for recurring yeast infections. A recurring yeast infection would be when you're having four or more yeast infections within a year period of time. And so, if this is happening they should be red flag to you that something is causing this and it's not a one time incident, instance. So, some things you want to look at outside of the treatment is, what can be causing this? Are you taking antibiotics? Or you want some sort of chemotherapy, some sort of an immunosuppressant? Is your diet too high in sugar or lacking probiotics, being acidophilus, yoghurt, milk, that sort of thing? Is your clothing affecting you? Is your underwear too tight? Are you in the water a whole lot and then wearing wet clothing afterwards? So, that's really important for a recurring yeast infection is to try to pinpoint what could be causing this and eliminating that or changing that in your daily, in your daily routine. There's a lot of home remedies that you can do. Some of the best are using, taking a Tampon and dipping that in yogurt which is a probiotic. It's going to have acidophilus which is an naturally, a natural occurring bacteria in our body. And you'll insert that into your vagina just like you would a normal Tampon 2-3 times a day, you can leave it for a couple of hours and you want to use that until, until there's resolve or you feel that the infection is cured. You can use boric acid which you can get over-the-counter and then at home you can make the capsules yourself. This is also going to help with the ph. You can use vinegar, take vinegar bath s, you take a cup of vinegar in a warm bath, soak for 20 minutes and then dry off well. And you want to do that at least daily until you find that you have some resolve to that. When you're, when you're treating these, you also want to see what's working, you don't always want to be using the same, the same way. So, what I'm trying to say is if you're using a home remedy and then next time it's worse, you might want to use a prescription medication or an over-the-counter medication to help resolve that and then go back to a home remedy. So, you're alternating and so you're never becoming immune to one, one treatment over the other. Those are just some ideas for home remedies with treating yeast infections that are recurring."
