"The best way to interpret a non-invasive blood pressure manually is to auscultate the blood pressure and there's two different ways to obtain a blood pressure. Remember, manually you can obtain a blood pressure by auscultating or by palpating. Remember, by palpating, you're on only going to get a systolic reading. So no diastolic number would be associated with the palpated blood pressure. With an auscultated blood pressure you'll receive a systolic and diastolic pressure. The best way to describe, obtaining one of those blood pressures is to listen for; listen for heart tones basically and note the number on the gage that corresponds with hearing that heart rate or that heart beat initially. And then when the heart beat goes away, we'll that's your diastolic number."
