"My name is Dr. Endre Sos and I will tell you a few words about how to buy a ferret as a gift. The life span of the ferret is from six to ten years so if you are considering buying a ferret as a gift it means that you will have a ferret for this time of period. This is a responsibility for not only you but the person who will get the ferret. It is a good idea to give a gift certificate and choose the animal to get for the recipient which means she or he can choose the color or the personality. Ferrets have different colors. There are brown ones, tawny ones, even albino ones and also this means some health related problems like the light colored animals or albinos can have more skin problems if they have contact with direct sunlight for example. So choosing an animal as a gift also needs some preparations like collecting knowledge from books or from VAPA about ferret husbandry, buying the cage, buying the food and contact a vet who is familiar with ferrets."
