"Hello, I'm Bruce Marshall, Fashion Designer and Emmy nominated Costume Designer here to basically show you how to do a quick fashion sketch. Now one thing that you need to know and really the most important thing about any fashion sketch, is that you just want to convey the idea of the garment that you're trying to either sell or make or design. So therefore, don't get too caught up on the details of making sure that it's all like perfect and like proportionately right. The idea is you really want to show the garment that you're making. The most important thing when you're making a sketch of a garment is you basically want to show the construction lines of how you put the outfit together. So for instance, if it's a strapless dress like this, you want to show the princess panels because this is where the actual garment is made and this is what its cut upon, which means there will be either a zipper on the side or the back. And so any seamstress would know how to construct this dress based upon your quick sketch. And that's a quick fashion sketch."
