"Pregnancy massage. So, with pregnancy massage, the client lies sideline, in sideline position which is a pillow under her head and one in between her knees. There's not that much else that's different than a regular massage. Pregnant women often like deep tissue just like other women and often have a lot of aches and pains. Often areas that they're achy are the hips with all the expansion and the back as well as aching and cramping legs. Some of the areas to avoid are this point, here, at the top of the foot, and then a few points in here and one at the calf. Other points to avoid are around the ankle and heel and working on the back while the client's in sideline position, I would just drape again. That way exposing the side and working into the back muscles. This position gives us access to the muscles of the back and side as well as the belly."
