How to Write a Resume for a Teaching Job

"You're looking for that perfect teaching job. How do you write that resume? I'm Gloria Campbell, with Advantage Training Systems, located in St. Petersburg, Florida, giving you some ideas on how to write a resume, for a teaching job. It's what I call a job specific resume. It contains some of your basic elements, name, address, telephone number, and email address. An objective for a teaching position may state, what is it you would want your students, to walk away from your class with? You also will want to list any accomplishments. If you were teacher of the year at your last school, please make sure that you put it in there. If you're a new teacher, you might talk a little bit about, what as a trainee, or some of your professors may have said about you, or what accomplishments, or awards you received. Also, make sure that if you don't have a work history yet as a new teacher, that you put some of the things that you've done. It doesn't matter whether it was teaching related or not. You can always find a way to connect that. Remember that as a new teacher, or a teacher looking to put together your resume. You want to highlight in your objectives what it is you want to accomplish with your students. What do you think is important? What is your mission?
