"Ah, vacation time, we all want more of it. i'm Gloria Campbell with Advantage Training Systems in Saint Petersburg, Florida telling you how to negotiate for more vacation time. More vacation time, how do you do that? Well, negotiation means that normally you're going to ask for something and then you're going to give up something in return. So when you get ready to negotiate for that vacation time, make sure that you understand what's the company standard, what is the range. Also take a look at what is the standard in your industry or maybe for other companies. Having valuable information is one of those things that can help you prepare a persuasive argument. Write down, very clearly, why you think you deserve more vacation time and in addition, what are you willing to give up for that vacation time. Also from a company's perspective one of the things you can do is take a look at including a clause in there that says you either use it or lose it. Companies don't want to end up having to pay you, if you leave, for ten or twenty weeks of vacation time that you didn't take. There are a lot of different ways that you can negotiate for more vacation time. Just make sure you have your facts together. I'm Gloria Campbell with Advantage Training Systems in Saint Petersburg, Florida. Negotiate for that vacation time. Have a ball."
