"Are people asking you over and over again how did you become a stylist? Are you a stylist or is styling something that you're interested in? Well my name is Sylvia Russell and this is how you can become a cosmetologist. Now, if you have the skill or if you have the desire to do hair, make-up, practice skin care, you may have the talent to become a cosmetologist. A cosmetologist is someone who is licensed by the state, so this is very important. There's only a few licenses in the world and those belong to doctors and lawyers and cosmetologist is one of those license that is up there with it. So take it very seriously. First thing you want to do is find a school in your area. Check into many schools and find the one that is right for you. Once you begin school, you're well on your way to becoming a cosmetologist. Talk to friends and family, and even go see your local stylist and ask her how she got started. I saw many women doing hair and wanted to know how I could get started, so I asked questions myself and now I'm a cosmetologist. I do hair, make-up, skin care, nails, everything I can do I learned at cosmetology school. My name is Sylvia Russell, and this is how you can become a cosmetologist."
