"Hi I'm Les Whitley. There are a lot of individuals out there that want to begin strength training. Whether you are joining a gym or incorporating something into your own home, buying weight equipment becomes a very challenging task especially if you don't know what you are looking for. When choosing weight equipment there are a couple of things to keep in mind. Number one is the space where you are actually going to keep the equipment. There are a lot of things out there which can be folded up and put away which the chances of that mean you are actually going to put it away and possibly never use it again so when it is in your line of sight and you pass by it every day the chances of you using it increase quite a bit. Look for something that meets your needs. If you don't have a lot of space you may go with something that is quite portable and easily adjustable such as a select your eyes dumbbell set like this an adjustable bench that you can move from a flat position to an inclined position with simple adjustment. It takes up minimal space but gives you maximal results. Training muscle groups of the upper body, the mid section and lower body, taking up very little space in doing so. If you do have more room and would like to purchase something that is a little more substantial, a rack like this or something that is a little more scaled for home use may be great as well. It allows you to use a bar for overall better training to add more weight but also gives you the benefit of the safety standards to keep you safe while exercising. The key factors in choosing a piece of equipment are look at the quality, look at the warranties, know that it is manufactured by a reputable company that it is something that you can get service on if something were to go wrong with the equipment. Also too look for something that is easy to use that you don't have to spend a lot of time adjusting so that you can move from one exercise to the next as quickly as possible to maximize the time, effort and energy to put into your training program. When you are choosing a home gym or choosing a product that you are going to begin for a strength training program, remember find something that meets your needs, train hard and train smart. I'm Les Whitley and those are a few tips in purchasing a home gym and buying weight equipment."
