"Hi I'm Kelli. I'm an aesthetician and makeup artist at Ulta Salon and Cosmetics and I'm going to talk to you a little bit about the different reasons why women may grow facial hair. Probably the biggest cause is hormonal changes. A lot of women going through menopause, they're loosing their estrogen which in turn creates maybe a lack of balance so that can lead to either more testosterone producing or just that lack of estrogen is just throwing the body out of whack which causes the hair to produce. Some medications can do it. They can cause a hormonal imbalance and cause hair to grow on the face. Sometimes, even pregnancy, that can do it. That can cause just a hormonal imbalance within the body that can trigger hair to produce in women. Sometimes a testosterone over production in women and a lack of estrogen. If you're maybe doing fertility drugs or something of that nature can maybe throw off your balance and cause facial hair to grow. Those are typically the main reasons why women grow facial hair is hormonal imbalance."
