"Hi, I'm Kelly. I'm an Aesthetician and makeup artist at Ulta Salon and Cosmetics. And I'm going to tell you a little bit about what sunscreen is. Basically sunscreen is a product that helps to block UVA and UVB rays from burning and damaging the skin causing hyper-pigmentation, and aging. Your sunscreen can come in different forms. A physical sunblock which is a titanium, dioxide, zyncoxide blend. Basically what a physical sunblock does is it reflects the rays off of the skin. Or you can get a chemical sunscreen which is avobenzone, parasol 1789 and basically what those do is they absorb and neutralize the rays. So typically your sunscreens come in a lotion form which looks something like this. And you rub them in. And you can get your sunscreen in a lot of different ways. This is just a straight up sunscreen. You can get it infused into a moisturizer. A lot of your makeups will have a sunscreen in it. And your SPF factor which this one's an SPF of 25, basically if you take; how long it takes you to go out into the sun with no protection, how long it takes you to get color. And you multiply that by the SPF factor, that's how many minutes that you have before you need to reapply. So if you burn in ten minutes and you have an SPF 15 on, you have 150 minutes until you need to reapply if you're going to be constantly out into the sun. So these are some examples of what sunscreen is."
