"Hi, my name is Veronica Baragas with MyWigglesandGiggles.com. I'd like to share with you some of the costs of starting a daycare center. Now this is certainly not a fun topic, but it's definitely a crucial one, the funding of your daycare center. Well depending on whether you're going to lease or buy a facility is going to take a big part into your costs. Initially startup costs shouldn't have to worry about equipment, things like that. I mean 9 times out of 10 if you're starting up a daycare center, you're starting from the ground up so a lot of the times you want to take into play whether you're going to have your own startup capital, what kind of loans you're going to get, if you're going to have private investors or whatnot. But you can look anywhere from $15,000 dollars up to $100,000 dollars for starting a daycare center. Like I said, it could be even larger into like $500,000 dollars. If you're looking to start out first and maybe just leasing a property and buying the essential equipment as far as tables and chairs and cribs, outside equipment, playground equipment, things like that, it could be in the lower scale as little as $15,000 dollars for a small scale daycare. Then you can go up further and further as far as adding in some legal expenses, inspection fees, things like that. I mean so it really just depends on how tailored your daycare plan is. And on the larger scale, are you looking to build a brand new building or even just purchase a brand new building. You can look as little for $200,000 just for the actual building. And if you're looking to purchase a larger facility then the equipment you buy and things like that are going to be much more expensive than as if you were on a lower scale just leasing. So you're looking to spend anywhere as little as $15,000 dollars up to $500,000 dollars like I said depending on what scale of daycare center you're wanting to run."
