"Modern instant messenger programs like MSN Messenger or as it's known now, Microsoft Windows Live messenger can do a lot more than just chat. We're going to show you one of the basic functions you can do now with just sending a file to someone. Now, one of those basic tasks that you can do in Windows Live Messenger what MSN messenger is now is send a file. It's certainly convenient to be able to to just talk to someone and send them a file directly. So you can see all these menu items under file, then send a single file, that's one method to go ahead and get a file to someone directly but let's start up a chat window with a friend of ours. And see all the menu buttons up on top, the graphical interface. And there it is, share files. You can do it just directly from the main interface, send a file or photo. And we're going to look for a file to send. And let's go into pictures and let's send our friend one of the nice sample pictures, we've sent it and we're waiting for our buddy to accept. You can cancel it at any time by hitting alt plus the Q key, and our buddy has accepted it and because we've gotten the transfer bar, and it'll show us the current time left or the file size left to send. This is not a large file so it should go fairly quickly. A third done right now, it's speeding up and it zoomed past very quickly. And so the transfer is now complete, you've sent a file to your friend."
