"My name is Anthony Maddaloni and I'm going to be giving some tips on how to buy a digital camera. Now, one of the first things that you want to think about is when you're buying a digital camera, why do I want this camera? Do I want it to go on vacation, do I want it to use to take pictures of my daughter's wedding? Do I want to use it to start a small business? These are just questions you want to ask yourself because the options and the way that you can utilize that digital camera are really going to apply to you in that circumstance. Also what is my budget? Is it 200 dollars? Is it 2,000 dollars? You can buy a whole lot for 2,000 dollars and you actually might be able to get something pretty good for 200 dollars too. You want to look at how many megapixels a camera has and now I'm not, the more megapixels really is the better, but what are you going to be doing with these pictures? If you're really just going to be sharing them on the web with family and friends, there's no reason to have a super high megapixel camera. So you want to think about that. The other thing that you want to think about is every year camera manufacturers roll out their brand new cameras. So you might say to yourself, OK they just came out with this new model, the model before that one might be a little inexpensive so they can sell the stock that they have of that camera. You might want to buy that camera instead of the brand new one. One kind of a problem that I encounter when I'm buying digital cameras is that if I buy a camera today, the technology that was used to make that camera is going to be even better next year and they're going to come out with a better one. So I'm constantly second guessing myself and I'm constantly doing research on websites to see hey, maybe I better wait a year before I buy the camera that I need. And really again its up to what I want to use that camera for. Certain digital cameras have built-in ways that they can use infrared photography, night photography, certain cameras have easier menus than others. You really want to go to the photography store or go online and compare. You don't want to just walk into a camera store or an appliance store and just say OK, what camera is the best? You want to do a little bit of research and that's going to involve a little bit of work on your part. And those are some of the tips that I can offer about buying a digital camera."
