"When a bunch of you are together in a meeting it's very easy to see what is going on, who has a question, they can raise your hand and then you can control the meeting and the situation. My name is Kathy Pabst Robshaw total telephone effectiveness. Over the telephone when you are in a telephone conference or webinar it's not so easy to do so there are certain rules that we've kind of put in place to make it easy to follow and make it productive and effective for everybody. The first thing is there should be an agenda that is sent out ahead of time just like in a meeting. Your agenda lets people know what's going to be discussed and keeps the moderator what you need to select or someone is in charge of the meeting, they actually are controlling that agenda. One person speaks at a time, which is courtesy just like in a meeting, only one person should talk at a time. And you talk by either identifying yourself and speaking or waiting for the moderator to call you when you've said that you want to say something. Online in a webinar you can actually hit a little button and a hand goes up and your name goes next to it so it's easy to identify that you want to share something as well. Identify yourself be brief, get to the point, stick to the agenda and let the moderator control the meeting. Kathy Pabst Robshaw total telephone effectiveness."
