"Have you ever moved houses or moved your business and then had to give someone your phone number and you didn't know what it was? I've come across that from time to time in my travels. What I did was a very simple, easy solution, cost me maybe a dime, called my best friend who has caller I.D. and I asked her to repeat the number back to me that I was calling her from and I wrote the number down and tried to commit it to memory. You have the option also of calling the operator and asking them what the number is. They will help you out with that as well. If you're out and about and you're using a pay phone, if you can find one, that has a phone number on it. You can certainly if you're in a hotel, the phone number's going to be on the phone dial, dialer itself. So there's lots of ways you can find it. Commit it to memory, write it down. Not like your pen. If you lose it, people will call you and tell you they found it. Kathy Pabst Robshaw, Telephone Effectiveness."
