"In this clip we're making a funny little pom pom pet of your very own. You will need some wool, possibly two different shades and fairly chunky, some glue, some scissors, a felt tip pen, something to draw around, an old empty box of cardboard, and some spare bits of card. What we need is an old piece of, an old cardboard box empty, and if you've cut along it, you can open it wide and it gives you quite an area of cardboard. A cereal package or something like that would do the job very nicely. Also, we need something round to draw around. A yogurt pot or something similar will do the job. We need to draw around it twice, so I'm putting it one end and draw all the way around that one, not missing anything, oops, and another one. If you can get two complete circles out of your cardboard, you've done the job fine. That's it. Now then cut out both circles as neatly as you can. It doesn't have to be perfect. Right that's two cards. Now this is a slightly more difficult bit. We want another hole drawn in the middle of each one. So I'm going to draw around my glue. That should, make it as near the middle as you can and right round that one and again with the other one, and then you've got to get to the middle to cut out that circle. And this is the fiddly bit. But what I do is just fold it gently in half. Don't have to squash it in half. And that'll just give you your first cut. When you've got your first cut, it's easy to get your scissors in and then roll around the inner circle and then put both circles back to back and you can see through them. That's ready for wrapping. I've got some lovely, fluffy wool here. And I'll put it through both middles and tie it round both outsides with a knot. And you've got that knot, you're ready to wrap. And by wrapping I mean pushing your wool through the middle, pulling it all the way through and then wrapping it around the outside back through the middle and over the outside. Just keep going round your circle until it's completely covered. And even when you've got it completely covered, you have to go round again. Round and round we go. So now you've covered the pom pom and it's nice and thick. You can still see the hole through the middle, but don't worry about that. The next thing you need to do is find the edge and get your scissors into the edge. You might need a grown up to help you with this bit and a few chops. Ooh, a few more chops until you can see the cardboard. You've got your two layers, get your scissors in between the two layers and start cutting round. So you're splicing your pom pom open. Now you need to have another piece of the same wool ready to tie it so that it doesn't all fall to pieces. I've chopped all the way around now and there's the two circles of cardboard in the middle. So I need a little extra length of the same wool and get it between the two circles of card. That's neat. All the way around. Bring the two pieces together, so that they're wrapped completely round the circles and then tie a knot. And this is the best bit. You can slide off your woolly, you're cardboard circles. Slide them away because you don't need those anymore. They've helped you to make the circle but now the wool is making the circle. There's a little bit of the knot sticking out there. I don't like that. And this is the pom pom that was a little bit smaller that we made before. That'll fit beautifully on the top. So if I get this bit of wool that's sticking out and this bit of wool that's sticking out and tie them together, there we go, that will make the neck. And the two pom poms are nice and secure with a couple of knots. I've got a little bit of craft glue here that should do the job. Sometimes when I put craft glue on I say count to ten and glue. If you put the glue on and then push it where you want it to be and then count to ten, then you're sure it's stuck. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten and it's stuck. On the other one. A bit of glue. I bet you can count to ten as well, can't you? And then it can stay nice and sticky. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. And it's stuck again. And the same with the eyes. And then you have your very own little pussy cat. One, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight, nine, ten. Meow, there we are me. And here we are with two pom pom pets. This is how to make pom pom pets. Next time you might want to try making a dog or make a row of them and make a caterpillar. All sorts that you can think of for yourself."
