How to Start a Blog

"Hi, I'm Tod Amazeen. I've been an Internet business consultant for fifteen years. I'm going to show you how to start a Blog. There are several popular sites out there that allow you to create and host a blog. For this demonstration, we're going to use WordPress.com. So navigate to WordPress.com using any browser. And click on sign up now. Choose a user name. Choose a password. And confirm your password. And scroll down, enter a valid e-mail address. And click on the check box next to I've read and agreed to the fascinating terms of service. And make sure, give me a blog is still checked. And then click on next. The next screen shows you where your blog domain or URL or web address is. What the blog title is and asks you to choose your language. Now you keep the blog domain the same. We can change the blog title now. Or you can wait till later to change the blog title. And we're going to keep the language as English. And click on sign out. While we're waiting for the confirmation e-mail to arrive. We can fill put our first name and our last name. We write a little blur about ourselves, if we want to. And click on save profile. WordPress is going to send you an e-mail that will allow you to verify your account. When you receive the e-mail, simply click on the link to activate your account. Once you click on the link, you'll be taken to a page. That tells you that your account is now active. And now you can go ahead and view your site. On the lower right hand side, you'll see there's a log in link. This is where we'll log in. By typing in your user name and password. And clicking log in. Here we're on the dash board. This is where we can write, manage, design, add comments or get upgrades. What we're going to do is, we're going to click on write. In the upper left hand corner. This will allow us to write our first blog post. Writing a basic blog post is as easy as clicking in title. And typing in the title of your post. Clicking down into the post area and typing in the content of your post. And scroll down. You can see there are a number of options to choose from. Now we can either save or publish this post. If we save the post, it will simply go into the saved folder. Where we can publish it later. That means that people won't be able to see this post. If we click on publish. This will actually publish the post to our blog. And people will be able to view it. You've just learned how to start a blog. I'm Tod Amazeen."
