Video Transcript

"My name is Gabriela Garzon, and I work with G.G. Image and Etiquette Consulting, in Miami, Florida. In this clip, we're going to talk about communication etiquette. Communication etiquette is everything in our personal life, and business life. We are representing our company, and of course, we're representing our own professionalism, so therefore, we should apply the basics of communication. It's basically listening and speaking, and thinking. First of all, you have to think before you speak, so you don't have to blunt into something that might hurt somebody else's feelings, or you might say the wrong thing, and listen. You should listen when somebody is talking, and do not interrupt them, because it's very rude to do so. As well as we all should know, when to stop talking, so the other person, can be part of our conversation. Some of the things that we need to know, is that we should avoid, absolutely avoid controversial issues, such as religion, politics, sex, or any other type of controversial issues, that may cause problems with different cultures. We should watch our voice volume. We cannot talk so loud, other people can hear our own conversation. Therefore, we should learn all these communication skills, to have good etiquette communication. This is Gabriela Garzon."
