How to Fold an Origami Box With Lid

"So you need a box with a lid, and you only have a couple of pieces of paper. Today, I'm going to show you how to make a box with a lid, with those couple of pieces of paper. My name is Robert Segundo. What we're going to do, is we're going to take our square piece of paper that we have here. As you see, it's already pre-creased, so we can kind of run through this real quick. We're going to make this box, so what we're going to do, to get these creases, what we're going to do, is we're going to fold it in half. Open it up, and then fold it in quarters, so it looks like this. We're going to open it up. Do the same thing over here, just kind of fold it in half, then fold it in quarters, so it's like that. Now, after we have our nice bridge shape on here, what we're going to do, is we're going to take our corner piece, and we're going to fold it straight into the corner, like so, and we're going to do that on all four sides, until it's going to look just like this. Now, what we're going to do, is we're going to take our corner, and then fold it into this crease here, where it's in the center line, here in the cross hairs here, and do that on all four sides as well. What we're going to do, is we're going to fold these two over on the side, and keep those, and then fold these pieces over, but instead of folding it over towards the middle, because if I fold it over towards the middle, I'm going to end up making just the regular box. What I'm going to do, is I'm going to offset this one just a little bit, so I can make the lid for this box. It's basically all the same folds, just making it just a little bit bigger, so now what we're going to do, is we're going to open this up, and we're going to fold this up like so. Fold our pieces towards the back. Then, fold this over into the front, like so, eventually. There we go. This is just the same. Basically, you're going to do this twice, but instead you're going to fold one just a little bit bigger. That's the whole reason for that offset, so the lid will actually fit onto our box. There we have it, like so, so after you've done this twice, and you have two boxes and one that 's just a little bit bigger. Let's adjust this guy just a little bit. There we go. It should be able to take it. Just set it on top, like so. There you go, box with a lid. Play around with it, have fun, and enjoy."
