"How to become a certified appraiser? I'm Blake Kennedy with Kennedy Brothers Estate Services, and I'm here to help. Being a certified appraiser can mean a lot of different things. Some people think, hey I want to be a certified appraiser on antiques, I want to be a certified appraiser on houses, or cars, or even the complete contents of a home. I am a certified appraiser, a certified estate specialist. You want to make sure that you first of all know your subjects before you say hey, I want to become a certified appraiser. But you have to be a licensed appraiser and you also have to have designations behind you, you have to go to schools that will help you write up the the correct way to write up a certified appraiser. A certified appraisal, whether it's no a car, whether it's on an antique piece of furniture. And you got to be able to research it and find out the right price to sign off on it. But there's many schools that you can get designations, there's the Certified Appraisals Guild of America, there's the Appraisals Guild, there's the National Auctioneers Association puts out what's called the Graduate of Personal Property Appraiser, but you know, just go online and see if you can't find out about some appraisal schools and designations because you want to make sure that if an attorney's hiring you that you have those designations, not just hey, I like cars, and I'm going to price it out.
