"Hi, I'm the star goddess, and here's how to find your rising sign. A horoscope is a circle divided into twelve sections. Each section is called a house. Each house governs a particular set of affairs. Since the earth rotates one degree on it's axis every four hours, every two hours a different zodiac sign is rising, which is why they call it the rising sign, over the eastern horizon at the moment you take your first breath. It's a critical measurement because it defines the cusps, or dividing lines of each of the twelve affairs of life. And it's the personality that you project your identity through. When you meet someone, you usually meet their rising sign first, rather than their identity or their sun sign. So here's a quick way to learn how to figure out what your rising sign is. The rising sign measures six o'clock in the morning, or dawn, plus two hours. Two to four hours after dawn. Four to six hours after dawn. Six to eight, eight to ten, ten to twelve, twelve to two, two to four, four to six, and six to eight. The sun sign and the rising sign are the same each day between six and eight o'clock in the morning. So, to find your rising sign, you put the sign here, of the sun sign, and then you...it goes from Ares, for example, if you're born March 21st, your sun sign is Ares. The second house is Taurus, the third house is Gemini, the fourth house is Cancer, the fifth house is Leo, the sixth house is Virgo, the seventh house is Libra, the eighth house is Scorpio, the ninth house is Sagittarius, the tenth house is Capricorn, the eleventh house is Aquarius, and the twelfth house is Pisces. You take the time of day you were born. Since I was born just after sunset, about seven o'clock at night, I would put the sign of Virgo here. So, I would then be able to tell that if Virgo is here, Libra's here, Scorpio, Sag, Capricorn, Aquarius, Pisces, and Ares, and that's how you determine your rising sign. That's better living through astrology. I'm Janet Sciales, the star goddess."
