"Hi. My name is Jill Weiss, and I'm going to tell you a little bit about the rules and concepts of how to play softball. First thing is is you have just to figure out the rules and regulations of softball. Depending on if you're playing slow pitch, fast pitch, NSA, ASA, there's all types of different summer ball, high school ball. There's all these different regulations. Main concept is is you have two teams. A normal softball game lasts seven innings. And each half inning is three outs. A full inning is six outs. And the object of the game is to try and score the most runs for your team. Offensively, you want to have kind of a diverse batting lineup, batting order. From your power hitters to your bunters and slappers to the base hitters, that can just bring the runs in; whatever you can do to put the ball in play and to produce runs. Defensively, you have to have a sound infield, a sound outfield, people that can catch the ball, people that can throw the ball. And then, it starts with pitching and catching. You've got to have a pitcher that can hit their spots. A team and athletes that can communicate well with each other, things like that. There's definitely different levels of softball. Whether it's competitive, just a slow pitch league, summer traveling team, or just a rec. league. Anybody can play softball. Depending on the seriousness, you can always go to different specialized coaches. Talent and practice. Practice, practice, practice. Those are all good key points. My name is Jill Weiss, and those were some tips on rules and regulations of softball."
