"There are a few ways to safely tie your horse and it's usually a good idea to tie them if you want to work around them and tact them up, it just keeps them stationary and makes your job a little bit easier. Today we're going to be using cross ties to tie up our horse. So, we're walking to this wash stall and I'm going to just turn her around, always watching where my feet are, turn her fully around and then we're just going to take these cross ties and clip them to the side rings, the lower rings, of the halter. Until I get her tied here, I'll leave her lead rope on, now I can take the lead rope off and she's secured by the cross ties."
